Mike is new Rotary President.
Mike Hemmings has been installed as President of the Rotary Club of Seaford.
The ceremony took place at a gathering of Rotarians, wives and guests at Deans Place Hotel.
The warm sunny evening concluded with a barbeque in the Hotel grounds.
Mike is married to Ann and has lived in Seaford since 1992.
Mike studied at the University of Liverpool from 1964 to 1968 reading Electronic Engineering. He started work in Plymouth as a production engineer in TV manufacture and subsequently moved to Hastings. A change of direction in 1980 saw Mike enter the teaching profession and in 1992 Mike joined the teaching staff at Seaford Head Community College and although having retired in 2004, he continues as a supply teacher.
Mike's joys include nine grandchildren (five boys and four girls) plus one yet to be delivered!
Mike's stated aims are for the Rotary Club of Seaford to continue to work for the benefit of the community of Seaford whilst at the same time maintaining Rotary's goal of promoting International understanding and providing help in the developing world.
