Young Artists 2019

LOCAL schools and those with pupils associated with Seaford were sent application forms, sets of rules and details as to how to apply, so that the schools could include relevant details of the Young Artist competition in their school news letters to parents.
Entries were received from pupils in five schools.
The judges (Richard K. Potter and Rotarian Alan Wagstaffe) had a difficult task as the standard was very high.
The judges decided that each entrant deserved to be awarded a Certificate of Commendation.
President Steven Willox with Youth Committee chair Paul Vaesen then arranged a programme of visits to attend school assemblies to present certificates and prizes to those who had been judged to have won their category or had been judged second and third.
On 1st March, the pair with competition organiser Tony Lees visited Roedean Moira House to present 1st prize to three students in their categories:
• 7- 10 years – Daisy Robinson
• 11- 13 years – Stephanie Vieira
• 14 – 18 years – Alexandra Lee
Second prize in the 14 – 18 years category was also awarded.
On 8th March, visits to Seaford Primary and St John’s saw two second prizes awarded.
Then lastly but not least, on 11th March, Chyngton school was visited to award a first and second prize. The first prize in the under 7 years category was presented to Isla Robinson.
A most successful competition.
