Fench Market

EARLY on the morning of 18th May, Seaford Rotarians implemented road closures in Church Street below Place Lane and West Street up to the car park entrance to enable the market stalls to be set up.
French flags fluttered in the breeze and the blue skies attracted customers to the various market stalls.
There was a fromagerie, a boulangerie baking fresh baguettes, croissants other breads, a creperie and various other food stalls selling hot food.
Other stalls were offering soaps from Marseille, models of the Eiffel Tower, onions and fresh garlic (dried and smoked garlic would be available in September), saucisson, olives, leather goods, wooden flower bouquets, hats and scarves and French posters.
Music from a stall selling vintage music pervaded the air.
All stalls were doing good business.
At the end of the day Rotarians removed the traffic barriers to enable vehicles to use Church Street and West Street again.
The next continental market will be an Italian Market in Sutton Road, Seaford on Saturday 14th July.
The French market will return to Church Street, Seaford on 14th September.
